I have read all the books in this series and continue to enjoy them. That says a lot for the authors ability to create interesting characters and an enjoyable world they live in. A lot of books in a series fall into the rut of becoming overly predictable and readers become bored. I like how new characters are introduced in this series and the existing cast continues to be developed. My only complaint is that Nate seems to have stagnated in his character development in comparison to the others. He is starting to come across as flat/1 dimensional, so I am looking forward to the next book where it seems he will be challenged and we will see deeper into his character. A.W.Exley does not disappoint--if you haven't tried her books yet, you really should!

Liked it a bit less than the previous installment, though still an enjoyable read if you like the setting. The plot/mystery is convoluted to the extreme, with family interconnections running back to previous generations. In short too many interconnections to make it plausibly realistic in my eyes but nevertheless worth getting if you liked the previous two books.

Just keeps getting better and better. Who said a romance ends when the hero and heroine get together? This story confined to pull you in, making you care about ALL the characters. Bravo! Definitely a keeper.

The author has created another fun, fast-paced adventure that takes her reader through fictional England in a believable way. Very nasty villian, bad-boy hero and the main character is feisty and quite capable of sacing herself and everyone she loves. Ms Exley has seemlessly linked her fictional world and her characters to her previous works, and her imaginative creation of artifacts sets these stories apart. Well done. An easy, enjoyable read.

I highly recommend this author. She brings the reader along in this book without any point of questioning what was this author thinking. She developed her plot and characters well. Once you begin this book, you won't want to put it down. This story contains intrigue, adventure, suspense and just a touch of romance. While this is book three in the series, you can read this as a stand alone. However, I highly suggest your read the others as well. You won't be sorry.

Books started well with good story line,then added sex and proceeded to gay sex. I stopped reading and will not finish this series.

Cara chases down another crim who is tied back to the throne and unravels one more family mystery. This book is more of a detective story than the previous ones and has a lot less romance. I found the clues a bit obvious and the ending a bit weak but I love these characters and the worldbuilding so I enjoyed the book anyway.If you loved Cara in the earlier books you will love this one too.

Still a great read, but perhaps not quite as captivating and entertaining as the first two books in this series. I didn't feel like the characters had any surprises left in their own development here, the relationship between Nate and Cara was a bit more predictable. Still, when you consider how much the relationship grew in the first two books, not surprising that there wasn't much left for this one I guess.I did also feel that the plot itself was bit of a step down from books one and two, just not quite as fast moving, and a little predictable in the way it played out. I enjoy this author alot, and will look for the next adventure of Nate and Cara, with hopefully a little more of the earlier sparkle!
