This book is fantastic. I was expecting it to be a little too basic, but it really did help with the conceptualization of the various topics. I had no idea what I was doing, and was very confused. I felt really stupid, as I couldn't figure out why I couldn't get it right. I read this book and almost immediately understood what I was doing wrong, and suddenly the math made sense. I ended up tutoring my friends and classmates too, and we all passed - me with an A. I'll definitely be buying more of this series, and would recommend to any college student needing a little help (admittedly cheesy, but gets the job done!) passing the semester.

This is an amazing book. It is interesting and I find myself learning more by following an interesting story than listening to an 800 year old man explain the subject matter while reading from a book. This book was suggested by one of my teachers and I enjoyed it so much that I bought the whole series. I highly recommend this.

When I was a college student I read the Manga Guide to Databases for funsies. Since then I own almost every Manga Guide that have ever been published.They are written much like an edutainment tv show, with simplistic story/characters to put more emphasis on the lessons. Each book typically follows a young, school aged boy or girl.The concepts are understandable within the comic in most cases. If not, each chapter ends with a text-only lesson guide that summarizes. Often the text goes into greater depth/detail than the comic itself.Electricity is a concept that requires some prior mathematic understanding (unit conversions, fractions, algebra), so I wouldn't recommend this for very young readers. I would say this is a good choice for a high-school student or a high-level middle schooler. However, as a college student I enjoyed it very much and learned very much from it, having never dealt with electricity much in school as it was.

I bought this for my daughter, she likes manga and I like electronics, thought it would be a good starting point for some father-daughter bonding. Unfortunately, although I've had the book for a week, she hasn't been able to get it out of my hands yet.I know the basics of electronics, but this book describes the details in an easy to read and understand manner. Each section has the comic, illustrations provide details that would be hard to convey in the comic book format, but at the end of each section is a very detailed and informative block of text.From this book, I now understand the inner workings of my Arduino and Netduino projects. I'm no longer limited to just blindly hooking up components per a schematic I downloaded, I can now design some of those circuits myself.Very good book, highly recommended.

I bought this book because I'm having trouble understanding physics concepts at school, like what volt would mean and a.c generators. I like this book because it explains everything very clearly, and the pictures help to imprint it in the mind, plus the story line links everything together so its coherent and can be read in one go.I seriously recommend this book for anyone who is interested in physics or is very muddled up in the basic concepts (It also covers a little bit of chemistry when it talks about electrolysis and making a cell).It's good quality book and can even entice my little sister (who doesn't like to read) to pick it up even though she isn't even taking physics.

I randomly picked up this book to browse through simply because I was curious. I wasn't expecting to buy it, but I was so impressed by it. I've covered electricity in classes, but I don't think about it every day. This book covered more depth than I thought it would in a short time, but it was incredibly easy to follow. If I end up teaching a course on one of these topics offered in these series (probably molec. bio or biochem.), then I will suggest the manga book on the syllabus as "supplementary reading."

Easy to read and understand. Covers many areas to educate on electricty

Great book, school my son goes too loved it as well and are buying them for the students. I'm a Hydro-Electric Plant operator, and this book is better than the ones we used in my Apprenticeship.
